GREAT THINGS TO DO IN ROCHESTER

As the third most populous city in the state of New York, it’s now onder so many tourists come week after week to visit this absorbing and engaging city. Whether you’re on business or on holiday, Rochester holds the key to some of the most exciting things to do in the whole state. If you’re staying in hotels in Rochester the real question is where do you start? With so much to do, it can almost feel overwhelming. That’s why we’ve given you a few pointers below for a great time in the city.

Rockventures

With over 18,000 square feet of rock climbing surface, the Rockventures climbing wall is one of the largest indoor climbing centres in the country. Here you can find a range of events and opportunities to make the most of this adrenaline fuelled and healthy activity. Whether you’re a businessman or having a children’s party, a sot of climbing will never go amiss with the masses. Melding fun and fitness, the Rockventures climbing wall has been operational since 1995 and has hosted team building exercises and fundraisers for companies as wide ranging as the Golisano Children’s Hospital and the Ginna Nuclear Facility.

Lamberton Conservatory

Named after a former President of the Parks Board, the Lamberton conservatory is a beautiful conservatory for a wide variety of rare plant species. Having been created in 1911, the conservatory has played host to a range of special events and exhibitions concerning plantlife and biology. As a bastion of idyllic culture in Rochester, it is well worth a visit from guests at the Rochester riverside hotel. With renovations occuring in 2006, the area now has more than 1800 square feet and 1000 glass panes, allowing the sunlight to magnify in the greenhouse. This has led to an abundance of plant life due to the high temperatures and is one of the many great places to visit in the area.

High Falls District

Based on the Genesee River, the High Falls is a waterfall which leads into the city. One of the intriguing facts about the High Falls is that it was one of the original sites of industrial development in the early days of Rochester. This in turn led to the arrival of workers to the city and has led to it becoming more and more populated over tie. Making for a very scenic walk, the High Falls have a whole heap of history behind it due to power once coming from the power of the falling water. There are several scenic spots from which to observe the waterfall, the most popular of which being the Pont De Rennes Bridge, where you can see the magnificent waterfall from just a few hundred feet away.

La Casa Dinners

One of the best mexican restaurants in Rochester, La Casa is a thriving and vibrant restaurant known for its killer tacos and enchiladas. Here you can find a diverse menu which will keep even the pickiest happy, whilst the great atmosphere will have you coming back for more.
