Lamberton Conservatory

Named after a former President of the Parks Board, the Lamberton conservatory is a beautiful conservatory for a wide variety of rare plant species. Having been created in 1911, the conservatory has played host to a range of special events and exhibitions concerning plantlife and biology. As a bastion of idyllic culture in Rochester, it is well worth a visit from guests at the Rochester riverside hotel. With renovations occuring in 2006, the area now has more than 1800 square feet and 1000 glass panes, allowing the sunlight to magnify in the greenhouse. This has led to an abundance of plant life due to the high temperatures and is one of the many great places to visit in the area.

High Falls District

Based on the Genesee River, the High Falls is a waterfall which leads into the city. One of the intriguing facts about the High Falls is that it was one of the original sites of industrial development in the early days of Rochester. This in turn led to the arrival of workers to the city and has led to it becoming more and more populated over tie. Making for a very scenic walk, the High Falls have a whole heap of history behind it due to power once coming from the power of the falling water. There are several scenic spots from which to observe the waterfall, the most popular of which being the Pont De Rennes Bridge, where you can see the magnificent waterfall from just a few hundred feet away.
